- My surgery went fine and I'm nearly completely healed, though my incision site gets a bit sore toward the end of the day if I've lifted Claire too often. We're so thankful for all the help we've received from The Taylors, Ed and Elizabeth, and my parents. Thank you!!
- Dave still has a job at Capital One (for now) - yay!
- Everybody has been fairly healthy lately. I'm especially grateful for this since I've heard too many stories about sick kids lately. (Two that hit closest to home: My friend's little boy had to have emergency surgery to remove nearly half his small bowel, which had become necrotic. He's already chronically ill and has nutrition issues so this little bump in the road will make his life even more difficult. And remember Romp N Roll where we had Alex's birthday party? The owners' 3-year-old girl has a brain tumor. She had surgery to remove as much as possible and then had a few rounds of chemo, but it did nothing to shrink it so now she's facing another surgery, more chemo, and radiation.)
- We've been having some issues with Alex acting out physically at school (mostly biting other kids when he gets mad at them). It's hard to teach alternate coping strategies to a 2-year-old, especially when he's trying to cope with the behavior of other 2-year-olds! And with only two teachers in the classroom, I'm sure it's difficult to monitor everything that goes on.
- I signed up to run the Richmond Marathon in November. My brother has inspired me to do it. We're both training through Sports Backers, but since he's in much better shape than I am, we won't actually be training in the same group or running the race together.
And now for what you really care about: the pictures and video...
